The WD My Passport drive is now formatted to work on both Mac and PC. And when you plug your My Passport drive into either you will be able to see the drive, read and write files. Copy and Paste files and create folders on both Mac and PC. So, when the WD My Passport drive is not working or the external hard drive won't mount on Mac, check the disk driver. Step 1: Click the Apple icon and select 'App Store' Step 2: Click Update (NOT UPGRADE!) to install a specific update or Update All to install all available updates. Hi all, just purchased a WD 2TB My Passport Ultra. I am running mac book pro 10.6.8 mac os x. Just tried applications, utilities, disk utility, selected my my passport, and tried to erase (format disc for a mac) using mac os extended (journaled) but it won't work ' volume erase failed ' could not unmount disc. Question: Q: MY PASSPORT WD Drive not showing on my macbook but shows on others. For no reason whatsoever my macbook pro won't show my WD external HD. It powers up normally and I see the light on the HD, it reads on other macbook pro's and it even gets read by my LG smart TV.

Wd My Passport For Mac Not Working
Hey everyone, I've been using a WD My Passport 500gb for about 4 months and so far and I've had no problems with it until today. I ejected it and about 30 minutes later I went to plug it back in. The WD smartware popped up, but my hd didn't. I'm not really sure what I did if anything to cause this. I don't know if this is a big deal but the light on the hd is blinking. I've never noticed if it always does this or if it means something else. The disk inside is spinning too. I have almost everything on this thing...does anyone know what may be wrong with it and how to fix it. Thanks in advanced
